Fearless Poetry Workshop

Service Description

Join Jo for two hours of word play! In this liberating workshop you will work in a relaxing supportive environment where you can pause, breathe and engage your imagination and express yourself creatively - breaking pre-conceptions about what poetry is! All materials will be provided including pages of existing texts, so you can play with words and images to create your own poems via the process of "Blackout Poetry" ie blacking out the words you don't want and selecting the words and phrases you do want to create something new and fabulous. By the end of the workshop, you will have created a "Zine" or a mounted piece of your own poems to take away with you. This 2 hour workshop is suitable for beginners and includes tuition and guidance, all materials, and a speciality coffee to help fuel your creativity! Spaces are limited so book early to secure your place. Please note this workshop is only suitable for those Aged 18+. This workshop forms part of a poetry series - so keep an eye out for others in this series. Please book each session separately. Jo's 37 year career has been honed in creative industries play writing, teaching creative writing, and set and costume design. She's passionate about fusing writing with art to engage people in creativity and wellbeing.
